That statement can be considered partially false. The tone in which you write in can be deciphered from the diction you use. Using phrases like "there are some people I just can't ****ing stand" or even "I'm just some random person on the Internet" conveys a harsh tone in my opinion. However, someone can see these statements leaning more towards a neutral tone, so your statement is also partially correct. Either way, using "make up in their head" wouldn't be the best way to put it, since you narrow down the possible tone words that could be attributed to your posts.

There. As you've said, some people can view that as aggressive, while others will see it as neutral or nonchalant, which is what I intended. To the reader, it implies the supposed aggressive tone I'm using, which doesn't convey the connotation I wanted it to; which brings me back to my original point.

If they aren't going to bother listening to their teachers they're not going to bother listening to some annoying asshole on the internet. As long as I can comprehent what they're writing why does it matter? I'll probably have a bit of a lower expectation of them but no point wasting mine and everyone elses time pointing out trivial things like spelling.

Sure they listen to their teachers, they definitely apply proper grammar in their school assignments and papers. When they log on to Graalians, it's a completely different environment, and they need someone else to remind them that grammar is important; depending on its usage, it changes how every individual person and the community as a whole views you, for better or for worse.
