i've had multiple identified accounts with over 2,000 spar wins each completely disappear from existence, so they definitely deleted some inactive accounts in the past

It's basically gets lost. It won't be deleted. But eventually it seems to reset your name so you can't be searched anymore. Or sometimes that is.
