does anyone here know how to code in just basic? (just basic is a program)

better question: how do you want your game to function

do you want it to be an rpg, or do you want it to be an mmo

rpg

if your main basis is going to be an rpg, then you might want to develop on the story first, rather on the gameplay

From personal experience, I HIGHLY recommend starting simpler, like with a puzzle-platformer. If you're a beginner working on an rpg-a much longer game in comparison-then the roadblocks that you face are going to hit much harder and your morale is going to drop. There is a youtube channel called Extra Credits which makes great videos about video game development.

Also, if you ever do pick the project back up or decide to make another rpg, ask yourself how invested in it you really are. If it's a side thing you do for fun, I don't think it'd be fair calling to others to join in. If you're really serious about it, rather than being Game Director and getting backlash like some of the comments in this thread, try putting together a team of equally motivated people. This way, it seems more like it's the group's game rather than your game.

I started learning how to code by attempting to make my own video game. There's no reason why this guy can't either. Stop giving him a hard time.

This^. I also started learning from making my own game.

If you really want to make a game, and you're willing to learn to code, giving up is the last thing you want to do.

I can't tell you how many projects and games I made, or attempted to make, that failed or never got released. But each time I made a new project, I learned more and more.
