LOL there have been tons of "revamped" swamp baddies. The slimes are brand new. If you don't like it, try doing better yourself.

I could make a better server if I had scripters.

This is the firepower they've been given.

However, this is how they use it.

There is no actual copyright on "slime enemies". They are all over and you probably canīt even copyright them anymore. And since they are not ripped from any game, they are totally legit.

LOL. On the other hand, you have no firepower and claim to use it better than the actual staff? What a mutiny!

However, general scripting has next to nothing to do with the discussion. The fact is, these slimes are not copyrighted, because I can find a handful of places similar objects can be found. If you think perhaps you can come up with a more original concept to be used for baddies on the server, feel free to generously suggest your ideas to the crowd instead of boasting about nothing that can be proven. Sharing your thoughts would also have made you someone to look up to in this thread, not vice versa. ;]

No RPG/Action-adventure game is complete without slimes. It's as simple as that. The fact that Graal has gone as long as it did without them is blasphemy.

In the end though what kind of baddies are you expecting to populate the overworld? Not to mention that I don't think iClassic has the firepower you're implying. I pretty much made the baddies from scratch(and FP4 converted the script to GS2), but had they asked me to make anything more complex than a blob I probably wouldn't have done it.

i think the slimes should sometimes spawn bigger, and they break into 2 of the regular ones.

Or a short quest to introduce the new baddies, ending in the encounter of a larger slime the player must defeat, breaking into halves until the slime is defeated. The player can then receive a new item, or possibly a gralat reward. Any ideas?

Swamptown Pudding Quest

After talking to the man in the bar you find out that a strange organization is hiding the gold slime somewhere. You go and talk to the old man in the society and ask him about it. He tells you hell show you if you kill 100 green puddings for him.

After doing so you come back and talk to the man. He lets you into the society which has some books, people, and then sitting at a table is a golden pudding. You talk to him and he tells you that puddings used to be nice creatures, and humans used to keep them as pets. He tells you that they used to live together in a society allied with the humans and he was their king. But then an evil pudding began telling lies and saying that humans were killing them. So he lead a rebellion, took him out of power, and he just barely got away. Now they attack the humans, and they have no choice but to fight back. You have to go defeat the king pudding in the pudding caves. He is a huge black pudding which breaks 5 times before being defeated. Succeed and you get a gralat reward from the gold pudding, access to the society ( maybe put something cool in there like checkers or something), and a pet green pudding for your house which isn't hostile.

They look nice, but it's so unoriginal. They're wrecking Classic every day. I think they look nice, but a revamp on the SwampTown baddies would've looked better.

Where have you been? Try checking MOD out. Enjoy your "Revamped" baddies.

I like your blobs a lot, but wasn't the entire storyline of Graal Classic that the baddies are attacking? Eurocenter has taken a bunch of people who probably didn't even play Graal Classic and put them in charge of a game that they are supposed to make good. Thor has asked Stefan if he could make a nostalgic Classic server and never gotten a reply. The way this shot is run, my god. Once again I'd like to repeat that the spines are nice, but I just don't see them as Classic-like.

@Shannon: You'd be surprised what I could do. There's a lot of revs that could make a better server. Dusty could probably make a better server in a week.

@Zeltino: I hate them, I still see blood on the ground when I walk by. It looks like someone just pasted some default client baddies in.

Storyline? lol. If that's the case for monsters then where do jumping frogs, spiders or even the old swamp baddies(spider water skimmer things) work into this storyline? And when have storylines really defined what baddies you can encounter? In Link to the Past the storyline was that Link was branded an enemy of the Kingdom, hence why Soldiers attacked him... but that didn't stop other enemies like crows, octoroks and other simplier baddies from being part of the game.

I also don't see how slimes aren't very classic-like. Graal was based on Zelda, LttP specifically, and pretty much all of the baddies are just copied from Zelda itself. Zelda has slimes, so why don't they fit?
