The owners usually used fences to block off the bottom two gralats for themselves so they would benefit (this was before you could actually lock gralats). Was a reeeaaaly efficient way of farming - would get gralats to gold in like 20 mins - because the more people that were in a house the more gralats spawn. Popular belief was that the more 'lag' there was the faster gralats grew, hence people spamming the chat and using the afk emote

Farming in general stopped being popular in 2012(?) when there was an update to farming and it got nerfed. Before then literally every patch of grass was used by someone horsefarming, and most of the time people were nice enough to not steal them - i remember making gold gralats in the snowtown resort many a time, and if i remember correctly somebody actually made a black gralat there once

you think horse farms would be good if they came back?

You're an OG if you remember these or remember being locked into a lane that only you farmed.

Horse farms were the ****. I remember horse farming in the 500h room like 5 years ago and everyone was nice enough not to steal the gralats.

Possibly, but I doubt it.
The gralat spawn rate is lot lower than it used to be, as well as the playerbase being less mature/trustworthy.
People seem to prefer making their own 'mazes' these days which serve as farms

edit; Just remembered the pain of having to pm the GH owner so you could leave, buy bombs, and return safely because bomb dispensers didn't exist yet

I was still in the guild "Taylors horse farm" 3-4 years after the leader had quit. He had a 100% keeps horse farm.

Before that I think I used an Absence members horsefarm?

anybody else have trouble throwing bombs? they disappear

Just made a horse farm and with two people in 30 mins the gralats just about got to red. So thats 600/hour/lane wich sucks
rip hopes of horse farming becoming a thing again

I would try it out, maybe if we could fill a gh it could be pretty profitable.
