There's some homeless guy in a wheelchair who's right next to a supermarket i used to go to all the time as a kid and i still see him when i pass by with the same bucket for change. He does weird donald duck impersonations for money, i dont kow if its a disability but, hes been here all this time, so my guess is he's faking it. Thats why i dont give my money to any homeless person.

I normally go to town twice a week, there is one man who sits right next to the bus stop I used to stand at.I felt bad for him as he is there through all the weather changes,so used to give him any spare cash I had. Then when I was on my way to meet a friend I seen that man come out of the bookies. :/ Maybe that's just one bad expierance and there are homeless people who do really need money, but then you don't don't know them personally.

My aunt is the manager at some homeless center in a smaller city about an hour from me.
She says that in her city alone, there are 3 similar shelters that help the homeless with food, water, and shelter at no cost every day. But she also tells me that you know someone is actually homeless when they're very territorial. Usually, homeless people who have been living as homeless get very defensive at even the idea of a person approaching them with money. She also says that at her shelter, the homeless have to be separated in rooms because they will literally pee on each other like dogs to show territory. The people on roads with signs are, most of the time, fakes. Actual homeless people have enough places to go that will take care of them, and in some places, even find them lines of work (if they're not in too deep). I wish I was making this up, but sadly I'm not. |
There are plenty of programs to aid people who are truly homeless. I'll donate to an organization that aids the homeless, but never give hand-outs.
There are a many things that can force people to be homeless, mainly physical and mental disabilities; but around where I live the "homeless" people are mostly people who would rather beg for money than work. No disabilities or anything; just ****ing lazy. There are plenty of places hiring seasonal work around this time of the year. Not hard to find a job and afford a cheap apartment. I've done it. I've only had pennies to my name, and I managed in a small apartment. |

I don't give to the homeless personally but if in my family we have clothes that doesn't fit anyone we will give it to salvation army and then they sell it for like 10% of the original price which helps out the poor a lot.
