Would love to see some ganis and hats

imo there should be absolutely zero prizes and seeing your name on top of the leaderboard is enough, why do you have to be bribed with ugly hats to play the game?

People would do it with or without the prizes. I would at least.

i was going to support, then i read what pharaoh wrote. it's true, if there's good prizes people are going to find a way to boost or cheat.

They'll be on top of the board and that entails being basically stalked as people try to find where you pk/bk. If they can't find you at a tower or at a mob you'll be reported. They would not be able to cheat either way, not for the top.

And the only real cheating you could do is boosting. Unless there is a fundamental flaw with the leaderboards code(which there is no proof of as of now.) or with the pk or bk system(which there is also no proof of as of now.) making it impossible to do any kind of cheating outside of boosting, which you'll be caught for if you are attempting to get into the top 3.

Don't use that as an excuse to say "just give that gralats and a trophy" because either A: you don't have the time to compete. Or B: you don't enjoy it enough to compete. Im not saying that towards anyone in particular, more just as a blanket statement. I won't be competing either, I don't have the time.

Feel free to give me reasons on why it isn't that way, I don't mind being wrong.

(Also if the staff can't keep up with the demand for hats or whatever season prize they are planning, then i could understand.)

Edit: I also understand the argument of "people shouldn't need a reward" which comyt posted above, but now that they have advertised there being a prize they can't do that now.

We can tell if you share your account, and if your in the top three by a wide margin then they could check to make sure you aren't doing that. Besides, people were already doing that without a prize. But if they did it convincing enough that they were far enough ahead that they wouldn't worry about losing and were close enough that they were not accused of it, then maybe they could pull it off.

Bking with a bot could work, but the server does have bot detection. Or if you were referring to a macro, then someone could easily come and find you and push you out of the way and/or kill you, even in the pyrat caves you can get killed. I don't know if macro use is illegal anyway.

are u an admin? if not ur first argument is invalid.
nobody can tell if u share ur acct or not. we can't even tell if sheikha shares her acct like people says and (high management)admins knows keeps their boundaries clear, they don't invade our privacy or expose them at all. i also heard average admins don't even gain any access to our ip or email addresses or anything important other than our graal ids.

bk botting, idk about this in any detail, but the way he described it, it wasn't a macro. i forgot who he was though.

I want to start by saying that I agree with Comet that players shouldn't be awarded for playing, but I don't have a problem with it especially if it promotes activity all around.

and yes, awards for people will increase the activity for each category. It would give more reason to participate in those subjects.

It gets repetitive when you don't get some sort of compensation for achieving top X.

Some people might be saying, "No point in awards", because they didn't get anything, while they did it. That's their problem, not the newer players'. It gives them an incentive to play, as it does for all the games that reward their players for completing certain actions/being ahead of the competition.

I started replying to this thread and then realized that I was arguing with my own beliefs. To cut it short, it has been discussed that the top 50 players of the season will be receiving something and this will happen in tiers. The top 3 players of the season will be receiving something better. I don't think we need suggestions on what prizes are going to be given out. For example, we already have trophy items made by Dusty and the conversion of the statues into furniture is scripted.

Just wait for the later announcement.
