It has gone from place to place. When I started to play it was the Grotto, forsure. Then I think it switched to Sards for quite awhile. Then for a few weeks it was the Bazaar. Now it is probably the spar arena.

There is no "cool-people hangout" its really just whatever you prefer to do on Classic or the people you enjoy being friends with

You'll find the majority of the social older audience in battle arena or spar places.

That's only because i'm there at the moment.

But on classic if you want the ok kids then go to noob island, they are all quiet there so you got nobody spamming the chat with kaaaaaapppaaaa.

sure, maybe if you either put an "anti" in front of social. the battle arena is filled with some weirdos. you're better off trying to make friends in beg for mercy and that's 100% honest.
