If they re-open it, I'd rather have them take a long time to do so and make it a decent game, rather than just fixing whatever issues it had and releasing it right away.

dont expect it any time soon. classic only has a couple qualified developers so getting things done with a sense of urgency is not a possibilities atm.

I'm a qualified developer, but I haven't done anything for Graal in several years. The Facebook Graal Classic seems to preserve more of the overland tiling I did, while Graal the Adventure (if it still exists and is anything like this video), preserves more graphics and scripting work that I did (as well as a lot of work I delegated).

Under the right circumstances I wouldn't mind developing for Graal again.

What server did you do development for and when? jw

Im worried about this now :.c
CTF is all what i do for fun and money, can someone tell me when is it gonna reopen?

There is a secret way to get inside CTF and face off against NPC's in which becoming victorious will give you the Golden Sword increasing damage by .5

By the time you see this, admins will be trying to take it down so you must act quick!

Grab your diving gear and dive until you obtain all 4 grails and the Zorby Hat, then wear the Zorby hat and you must run to each tower and use one of the grails on each tower (not including deadwood because the grails are too sacred for that location and not around MoD since MoD is home of death) then run inside the golden gate. After leaving the gate you will be in the 2nd dimension where you will be alone if you still see people repeat the prior steps in a different order until you get it, then you simply walk to CTF and enter it and pray you win, you only get one chance.

My account was/is jake13jake at least for the client, but I haven't used it in a while. My handle was Massokre. I was LAT Admin of Classic for a while (After the first reset, and before iPhone and Facebook). I had also been FAQ and (maybe?) GC before.

I tiled the waterfall mountain and snowtown mountain that's present in the current Facebook/iPhone classic. Albeit it was a complete redo of what I had originally delegated based on a drawing, and I focused on the ledge/wall sections (i.e. I didn't tile snow town, just the mountain). The big waterfall mountain, meanwhile, was all me. The hexagonal level near snow town was one of my favorites from old Classic (previously level25.nw) so I made sure that it was included on the mountain. There are a bunch of other minor things, but they're less considerable in terms of scale.

I scripted movement systems and serverside hit-detection systems for the iteration of Classic (and a lot of other systems) in which I was LAT admin. The primary hangup in the development of quests was with baddies and serverside hit-detection.

From the video I linked for Graal the Adventure, I made the dice in GC Studios (one of my first contributions), the level with the warp point next to Master Li's (my first original player level that was uploaded), the circle around the player when they die, and I seem to recall the turtle (based on the turquoise stone) being something I was involved with, though I forget to what degree. Also, a lot of other (again) mostly minor things.

I also created a horizontal bridge style. As an example, the bridge that goes across to the castle from near AC/Burger Refuge. The traditional style (built into the tileset) can be found in AC itself.

i think that would be good for the server, but iClassic is probably the hardest server to work for as a developer (not including gp and graphics). I think FP4 or Dusty made a post in which they said certain positions were by invite only (might only be scripters, but I'm not sure).

and you can still log in to graal the adventure in the pc client, but its dead.

It's hard enough to get a hold of any staff on iPhone/Facebook Graal, and I think maybe it was Dusty that had worked under me at one point and showed me some dev work when I had come across the Facebook version.

To be honest, you probably have a better chance of fixing any in-game issues(not bans) here than in the server even though its not an official forum.

Thallen 07-20-2014 10:03 AM

A more structured CTF system that incorporates guilds as teams would be so much more fun than the "DECLARE WAR" thing. The CTF maps on the most recent revival of GTA were so good, especially CTF Sumo.

deadowl 07-21-2014 01:45 AM

Or is it Thallen that I know? Nevermind, I think Thallen just sounds familiar because he is the guy that wins at sparring a lot.

There's a lot of untapped revenue opportunity in the guild system.

Skill 07-21-2014 04:51 AM

All they need to do is add a permanent leaderboard for ctf kills/flag captures/wins and it wont die. And if they make it free plus add a small reward like 50G for winning/25G for losing, then maybe people will play more.

People LOVE competing on a leaderboard.

When there's competition they do.

Yeah, it's me from PC, hey.

There's a lot of untapped potential everywhere in this game. Years ago, we'd have been saying, "Wow, this game could be so great if like 3000 people played it," and now that it's a reality it can't really happen because there's a lack of developers and cooperation from the game's management.

Looking back at it, it's probably very unfortunate for iClassic that Stefan, Xor, and Thor never came to some type of agreement to bring GTA and all of it's development to iClassic, because that'd be a fair amount of responsible staff that I think could be improving the game.

Nonetheless, if you or anyone else wanted to help out and had the required skills, I'm sure all you'd have to do is send a forum PM to someone like Rufus, Dusty, or maybe even Crono, and they can point you in the right direction, or there's http://support.toonslab.com/. I'm pretty sure there's a severe shortage in scripters and level makers, but I have no idea.

Guys we need him. It'd be smart for another Dev.

Guys they added the new rail after 1 year.
Give it 25 more years and they might be done with ctf!
Though ctf was fun to play. I'm hoping for it to be added back before 2015, can you do that Dusty? xD
