The GST after this one will most likely be revised quite a lot. For example, you will need to have been in a guild for a certain length of time in order to be a part of their team. Posting this now so that when it is introduced people can't really claim I've done it in response to something I disliked about this coming tournament or something stupid like that.

Post this on news after this GST.
Hehe I was in Earth since January!

Thats unnecessary people should be able to decide how they enjoy the game.

I'm guessing the goal would be to make the GST more guild oriented.

100% progressive and positive change to the tournament and guilds overall.

Its obviously a conspiracy to help US win!

fallchild 07-23-2013 08:46 PM

Obviously.

I want to start by saying a couple things. 1. I strongly dislike noobs that do teams just for the gst. 2. I also dislike noobs that were recruited for the purpose of the gst and then talk smack about the new super spar teams like if they were any better. Saying all this I don’t believe there should be restriction implemented into the gst for the purpose of preventing this.

Take a look at it from the perspective of the top sparring names grouping into a guild just for the tournament. They're most likely going to dominate most other teams. In light of overall fun...I'd rather party at a sausage fest.

That’s how it currently works and nobody has dominated the gst.

Developers should be able to decide how to handle balancing issues.

They should also make decisions based on the possible improvements towards the server and not let their personal bias make the decisions.

Take xenix 1k hat. Someone allowed them to edit a hat that was never sold as their guild hat. That sets the precedence for future guilds to do the same thing. Take the original honor point hats, why shouldn’t future guilds be allowed to used them or a edit version of it?

I don’t see how they want to try to distinguish guild spar with team spar. I don’t think an event that allows only 7 out of the 25 members to participate could be considered guild oriented. Looks more like a way to prevent competition and semi-enforce guild loyalty.

The fact that a prize is given to the winner, makes the GST all about the competition without restrictions, unless its PED, and if people only do it for fun there shouldn’t be a problem with super spar teams.

A way to make the GST guild oriented would be by getting rid of the prize and letting people compete for bragging rights. Where at least 10 different members would have to participate. That would make it more about the guild than the “team”

GOAT just owned you all seriously, for the first time. I hope he keeps this attitude now.

Agree with GOAT and PumaD on their points so I'm not gonna repeat them.
I just feel that last minute guilds are part of the GST experience they make it hectic, fun and dramatic. Having been in a last minute GST guild I found it to be one of my better GST experiences because no one expects you to get anywhere there's no arguing or bickering with whose a better guildsparrer. Also with there being so many last minute GST teams they seem to make up the majority of the teams in the GST with this new rule you'd be getting about 10 teams entering.

I just see that if you implement these plans it will reduce the level of competition drastically which would be a huge disappointment after seeing its level increase every GST.

Does this mean the guild system will be changed by late October? :0

I see what youre doing here, and I mostly support it. But the teams that are pieced together last minute is what switched up GSTs. If every team had the same people every GST, the outcome with will be the same which is rather boring.

Thallen 07-24-2013 02:44 AM

point of the GST is to prove which guild is better at sparring, not to see what group of people can throw together a team at the least minute because they decided they like one of the GST hats or because they desperately need validation on Graal and want a statue that no one is going to care about

you guys act like this is some drastic change
just start your corny GST-hopping drama a month early next GST instead of waiting last minute and you'll be fine

taylor 07-24-2013 03:52 AM

good luck, have fun, be safe, i love you

I'd rather see 10 guilds enter the GST than 40 last-minute teams. Rufus' idea may be just what the server needs to completely revive the competitive guild system. That really adds to the fun of the game. Guild loyalty and competition is much more entertaining than seeing who can find the best group of 7 players every season.

PumaD 07-24-2013 10:06 AM

The point of the GST is fun I believe, not to show loyality and/or respect or whatever you on, and most of people are thinking winning = fun.

Oh, and it's not about the "seven best players", it's about team-work, nub.

Potentially, but this and that are not entirely related.
