Hate crimes are punished harshly here. If you punch someone you might get a day or 2 in jail. If you punch a guy after calling him some racist **** then the punishment changes. If someone insults you it gives you the right to feel threatened and defend yourself.

Thanks, you learn something new everyday. I thought the right of "self-defence" was only acceptable in court in a result from physical pain against you from another person (ex. attempted murder or assault).

Well historically.. (From what I understand; not American, so correct me if I'm wrong) but Southern America has always been deep in the bible belt as well as being known to have been the worst parts for racism, sexism, stereotypes, etc. At least that what I've gathered over hearing about Southern 'Murrika.

the american south has a tendency to always be like that, just call them rednecks and they'll just punch you in the face a couple times and leave you alone.

That’s half true babe. The beauty about crime in America is that what happens doesn’t really matter what matters is how and why it happened.
If some dude comes up to me and says “hey wetback get your ass back to cuba spic” all I have to say is I felt threaten and acted in self defense. But I wouldn’t go as far as to beat the **** out of thim. With these massive Arnold like arms I can usually put noobs down with one swing.
