I don't see why it's so hard to prevent already, just log the last 20 or so chat messages or pms that a player sends, but only make it viewable by admins if the player on the receiving end reports them, so that it wouldn't be an invasion of privacy(by reporting a player it tends to mean I want it looked into, so it's not like admins will be able to spy on messages I sent to a friend unless he reports me for some reason)

IMO thread should be renamed to harassment instead of racism, since it is a broader category and racism can fall under it.

In terms of enforcment, I think you need a better way of documenting punishments and warnings of a player. For example, if some guy is throwing our racist or homophobic remarks at someone to try and offend them, and an admin warns them, they could put a note and date. For example:

This way admins will know if a player has been warned before by someone else, and can punish appropriately based on past actions rather than just their own experiences.

If anybody is being racist to you, or player(s) around you, message a staff member, aswell as reporting the player, until the staff arrives, please block the player, and ignore them, to prevent punishment on yourself. Thank you. :)

Most rude players only do it for attention. They think they're "cooler" by saying mean things. They can tease you, but the moral high-ground is yours.

The full-on block and prewritten responses would both be very effective against all harassment. Good ideas guys. I'd love to see these.

I like this, add a criminal record to someone so punishment can be made easier to decide the lengh of time needed.

Racism is very controversial, it's often used by PRs to pick on people they don't like or to defend friends with ease. There shouldn't be any set rules, a PR should seek guidance from a PRA and players should have the right to object to an unfair judgement if they're not an obvious moron...

I like the old punishment idea of digging an amount of shells an admin jailing a player sets, and you need to dig that amount to get out of jail.
