Give the guy a break! He's sharing his thoughts, and you all shun him. When's the last time you posted something meaningful like this?

demons + alcohol = not a good idea

last time i checked, alcohol doesnt make you more intelligent, thoughtful, and inventive. alcohol is a poison, and i wont have any of it. i want to be in full control of myself.

you'll never have it completely renewable.

last time i checked, alcohol can make you funny and weird. in this case it seems like you are even more weird than all the other times (nothing new)

obviously, this is renewable as renewable as possible while still supporting human life. matter is never lost, although damage or accidents could end up causing matter to be sucked into the vacuum of space...

I have the theme song for this city.

you will inevitably lose matter in one way or another. i think we have the capacity to make such an eco-system, it's just a question of whether it's really worth it or not.

i'd rather see the western world (no point in waiting for the ****pits of earth) advance rapidly, esp when it comes to infusing technology with everyday stuff. i know london is aiming to replace their street lamps with ones that can be controlled w/ tablets/phones (iPad atm) which will save them around 300-400k GBP a year. nifty crap like this is taking way too long to trickle down.

Higbey 11-10-2012 06:58 PM

Well yes but london isn't in space, yes you will lose matter, but not in large ammounts, and with systems to bring in space debris you could gain new matter. As long as the hull remains sealed there is no way for matter to leave the system

the problem is that you'll constantly need to create useful energy, which is the opposite of how nature works (breaking down from orderly and useful energy to chaotic and worthless energy). you can generate power etc with solar panels, sure, but will it account for everything?

matter will need to leave the system anyway, not everything is reusable. =[

the london point was a tiny example of a bigger and more important point, which is that we need to advance ourselves as a society first before we try to tackle a space city.
