Headphones

Budget: $50-$250
Music Preference: Huge Variety
Form Factor (Type): Over-Ear
Open-backed or close-backed (not for IEMs): Closed
Source (MP3 player/desktop/etc): IPhone
What's above everything else? - Sound quality / Looks or / Build quality

Currently have; Audio Technica ATH M50, Skullcandy Aviator, Senheisser Momentum, and Grados SR 60i.

I am just looking for something new and was wondering if you could help.

Also, I am currently looking at the AKG K 701. If you know them can you please put your input on whether or not you think they are worth the $350.

I wrote a post on the K701 in the first page - also, you can find them on Head-Fi used for around $180, and you can get the K702 (same model basically) on Amazon for ~$240.

So the microphone I got doesn't pick up my voice very well...

Try configuring them again via your Control Panel.

I did that before.

Searching for a pair of over-ear closed back headphones with a superb low range. I want something with a richer lower sound that doesn't look too fancy. Do you know of any? Maximum: $700

ATH-W1000X, that is all.

Option 2: Audio Technica ATH-W1000X ($675) - Now this here is one of my personal favorites. Audio Technica is really known (and this set in particular) for their bright, clear treble, punchy bass, and a V-shaped sound signature. Now because the bass and treble are emphasized over the mids does not make the mids bad. The mids still remain natural and lifelike, and with some EQ to reduce the bass, the mids really shine on these headphones. These are great for bass-heavy music and vocal music; dubstep, drum n bass, hip-hop, rap, etc. but I wouldn't recommend them for rock as the bass is too prominent and the sound isn't as aggressive as one might like for rock. These should run you around $600-$700 MSRP.

Pros: Punchy with good bass extension, laid-back sound, clarity in trebles, amazing wooden look
Cons: Shy mids, might need amplification

Well, just figured out that since I bought it from my brother's friend, his friend actually borrowed it from another kid and forgot to gave it back. So, I had to sell them back to the person i bought them from

Talon 01-30-2013 09:36 PM
