US Government releases footage of nuclear bomb tests.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/sc...-a7634771.html The gov. released footage of these tests as the tapes they were originally recorded on are decomposing, you can find them on youtube somewhere. I find it interesting, knowing these horrible weapons could potentially end our world. Thoughts? |

I cannot deny the fact that nuclear bombs have kept peace for one of the longest times in history, but there are certain leaders, such as Kim Jong Un, who, while i highly doubt their country can afford nuclear bombs, if they were to get them then Kim seems like the sort of man who would actually use it. You have to also realise nuclear bombs leave radiation behind and radiation causes cancer and birth defects. |

Nuclear weapons are supposed to be like a last minute thing to use against your opponent if they aren't surrendering or something (ex. Japan in WW2). Nuclear war is unlikely in the foreseeable future because they do more harm than good. Plus they're expensive to make. As for North Korea, nobody is really worried about them developing nuclear weapons because practically everyone has them. And who would they attack with them? South Korea? They probably don't have the technology yet to send it across the entire Pacific Ocean to attack the U.S., and even if they could it would probably get shot down. |

Nuclear weapons aren't even supposed to be a last minute thing. If one country with nuclear capabilities uses them against another country with the same capaibilities, then both will end up using them. America didn't even know how strong the atom bomb was when they used it. That's now why everyone talks about mutually assured destruction if anyone uses them. |

A majority of the countries that have access to nuclear weaponry know the huge risks of going to war with somebody with nuclear weapons. All countries know that if they use nuclear weapons on someone else (or even attempt to), they will be met with the same thing, and that is something that a LOT of countries don't want to risk. Not in this day and age. |
