iPad Mini or Nexus 7?
This question is a life or death one at the moment. And don't say iPad because of graal. Give me some good reasons that support each device. Nexus 7: http://www.google.com/nexus/7/ iPad Mini: http://www.apple.com/ipad-mini/overview/ |

Nexus 7, it's the whole reason Apple created the iPad mini was to compete with the Nexus because it's selling so well. But go ahead and waste your parent's money, you're all just dumb kids that want anything with an Apple logo. |

Everything looks the same on iOS whether you're on an iPod touch, iPad, or iPhone (I own or have owned all of these). The static grid of icons on the homescreen and the usual grey menus gets old fast. If you ever get bored of your Nexus you have thousands of options to completely change your device's appearance and how it functions. Also people who are wary of Android's "lag" just take a look at the specs on the device and compare them to the iPad mini, plus this is Google's Android...not Samsung or HTC that add their crap to slow down the OS. I've carried on a bit too far now, hope you make a good choice. |

To add to what Rexx said, the Android platform has far more potential in terms of homebrew software/hacking than any iDevice. A friend of mine has an HTC I believe, and he can modify the amount of energy and memory his phone uses, give or revoke internet access, use various emulators, and other generally nice things. If you're into hacking and such, as well as more customization options which iDevices can't use without jailbreaking, go with the Nexus 7. Also, YouTube app.
