What are you talking about? The US has the highest GDP out of any country and 6th highest per capita, if you're talking about GDP growth then the US is pretty much on par with every other country. Inflation has been fluctuating between 1-2% which is close to target levels. By world standards the US isn't doing that badly. Cutting taxes for the wealthy won't solve anything, increasing them reduces the debt and increases government spending. The wealthy are known to be the biggest savers, they are the least likely to spend their money and often invest in the stock market or in foreign markets, it's just money leaking out of the economy. The government have the ability to redistribute the income and invest it, thus increasing aggregate demand and resulting in economic growth. Consumption definitely affects growth/AD more so reducing the taxes for lower brackets is smart, reducing it for higher brackets has much less of an impact and doesn't really benefit anyone other than the rich.

That isn't necessarily a good thing; there is a big problem with "government spending". Take the military for example, they often don't reach their budget maximum so in order to maintain it they purchase things they don't need and just generally don't really care how much they waste so that the budget remains as high as possible and because it's already so high wasting large amounts of money doesn't really affect them. It's pretty common for them to excessively waste money. Just from working on the largest Canadian Forces Base only for a few months it was pretty astounding how much money they managed to waste on little things, just imagine how much money the U.S military wastes with a six-hundred billion dollar budget. Having more government spending doesn't do anything when they can't even spend it properly, the whole system needs to be reworked.
Should of just did what we did in Canada, we are apart of the Commonwealth and garner all the benefits but the Queens' limitations are far greater than any other Commonwealth nation. You guys just ****'ed up because most of the people didn't actively look into what leaving would mean, if I was the EU I wouldn't even give you guys a grace period I'd just kick you out right away and re-accept you when you realize how bad leaving really is, hopefully that's how it works out. |

Lol people going on like brexit is a failure just because it isn't delivering certain things it said it would in campaign(Literally every campaign does that) furthermore brexit hasn't even started yet. The downterm of the pound etc is basically because other countries are worried of how it's going to pan out(because noone really can say for sure until there is a plan/agreements on stuff-everyone knew that before voting) Yeah It's likely pound will drop very low again but gradually will come back up like it is already slightly doing, this happened many many years ago infact like 50 years ago most countries were alot richer than they are now the damage was done years ago hi maggie. @Colin you act as if eu is a safe haven and secure communities while in hindsight has been crumbling for awhile, while all look at the pound drop also euro's have been dropping and with main eu germany going to be biggest in eu I can only see it falling as they've used it to rinse money while not providing so much. The fact is eu countries need us hence why they all originally wanted us to stay, we provided eu countries the most.thats why deals will have to be made. |

Takes a special kind of stupid person to even compare voting for Trump to Brexit, but it's good that this thread has shifted to that discussion so the Clinton supporters can ignore the dozens of ridiculous things revealed in the Wikileaks dumps There's never been a more crooked general election candidate than Hillary Clinton and if she makes it into office then you're sending a clear message to every politician that you're okay with that |

In my opinion the emails don't come as much of a surprise. Yeah, it's all disgusting (as is the whole politics scene) but it's something that politicians have done for a long time. It definitely needs to change, I just don't think Trump is the one to do it. I'd take corruption over stupidity any day. |

You don't become a multi-billionaire and create dozens and dozens of successful businesses by being stupid. However, Clinton used the "I was too stupid to know better" defense when she was asked by the FBI about why she set up an unsecured email server at her home. Neither candidate is actually stupid, and only one candidate has a track record of being a corrupt and careless politician.
