GST Losers bracket

Everyone hates when you think you have the winning ace team, and you vs a team you know you can beat and lose off the simplest mistake. Then you have to wait another 3 months for the next GST. I was thinking instead of having to lose and wait another 3 months, add a losers bracket. It not only gives teams another chance, but increases competitiveness. It would let teams discuss what they did wrong, and fix it for their next chance in the losers bracket. This idea would make GST more fun and less disappointing for some teams. Please share your thoughts and ideas about this idea!

isn't the GST for winners? having a loosers bracket would give loosers another chance, which they dont deserve. they lost.

True, like i said its an idea. All im saying is I dont like losing off a mistake and have to wait another 3 months to try again.

I get what you're coming from, just, at the end of the loosing bracket, they have to spar the end of the winning bracket, essentially giving them 2 chances to win, some might argue its cheap.

GST is 2 hours long. I would rather have 3rd place match for 3rd hat.

2-3 hours every 3 months, and yes 3rd place match would be nice.

Really good point. Maybe instead of 2/3 it could be 1 match, seeing its the "losers" bracket

I'd like seeing more planned guild spars between guilds for practice, fun, and maybe even bragging rights. Who says that your guild can't compete with other guilds in between official tournaments? Sometimes, that can be even more fun IMO.

I mean yes it would be complicated, but getting hosts shouldnt be a problem at all.

In order to do more than our current GST format (2x 64 team and 32 team tournaments every 3~ months) we would need to get the tournament nearly completely automated.

One thing that could be interesting is if we added a match for third place (which I just noticed people suggested), as of right now the hat that neither team picks have kind of been going to waste. I'll add it to my list of things to do for the next GST.

LOL! If the hosts for gst as of now weren't so sophisticated. Maybe we could. But for awhile the guy Yuri is giving people a hard time! And so if that's a problem for one gst the losing gst whatever you wanna call it would be double to trouble. I say instead of people competing in it seeing what they did wrong I say we put the hosts in one room and tell ask them what they did wrong. Then tell them what they did wrong. Then lecture them on the rules and give them 6 quizzes and 2 tests. One is a physical test and one is a multiple choice/ long answered test. Then make them do practice GST to only truly verify if they are worthy in hosting.
