theoretically clinton does not need my vote to win texas (she's probably gonna tank it with or without my vote). so i can safely vote for johnson to send a message to no real detriment. it's still symbolically a gamble though -- but maybe coming up with creative ways to use my vote will distract me from the crushing sadness i feel whenever i think about actually standing in solidarity for either of the two leading candidates |

http://balancedrebellion.com/ If you think voting 3rd party is a vote for Trump, or a vote for Hillary, you can use this site to match with someone from the opposite party that's on the fence about voting for Johnson due to fear of Trump/Clinton, and both pledge to vote 3rd party. This way your lack of votes for Trump/Clinton cancel each other out, while boosting Johnson up in terms of votes. The internet can change the effectiveness of a 3rd party campaign relative to any point in history. A grass roots campaign made viral by the internet is what made Bernie Sanders almost win the democratic primary, if it wasn't for the party's corruption, superdelegates, and his weak start early in the primaries. The election is a vote all at once(besides early voting), so a weak start won't hold Gary Johnson back as long as he gets into the national debates. |
