Hey guys,
I'll try and explain the reason I'm working on a side project.
Currently the programmer for Fortune Fighters is focusing on paid jobs since he has a family to support (wife/children). It's not practical for him to work for free. Especially for such a long period of time in "hopes" that FF will pay us back for the time spent.
I have a lot of faith in this project, it's definitely the game I care most about. I am working for free on it and it doesn't bother me.
But in the mean time, I have to work with another small team on a project to make some money so I can afford to pay the programmer of Fortune Fighters.
I can't give anyone a definite time when FF will be released, but trust me when I say that I will tell the Graal community first when it happens. -- It could be a while. Everyone just has to be patient and understand that I love this game. This is what I am most passionate about. I will never let this game "RIP" like a lot of you think happened. I still work on graphics for this when I have free time.
Just to repeat the issue is with the programmer. It's hard to find consistent help, and I don't blame him. These kind of projects take years to make, and it's unfair to expect someone to work for free on it the whole time. That being said, we aren't very confident the game would do well on Kickstarter since it's a free to play game. We've discussed the idea of crowd funding, and it's something we still consider. If anyone has any ideas or can prove that some type of donation/crowdfund would be successful, I would love to talk about it. It would be beneficial if you could poll your friends or get votes from people to show how many people want this to happen. I can relay that to the programmer and see if it excites him to start working again.
TL;DR - Fortune Fighters is not dead, we are broke and have to work on other paid jobs in the mean time. FF will NEVER die and will be released someday. If anyone has proof that a crowd funding/donation campaign might work we are open to discussion.
