I understand their logic behind it. People would stand a distance apart and drop their items, then run across and take. Some guy may claim he dropped 500 shells, when in reality he only dropped 2. He then gets away with a nice item in exchange for nothing, because drops do not properly display their amount.
A much better solution would of been to display the quantity of the dropped item underneath it or above it in a text in a different font,color, and size than chat, so that we know what we are getting.
This change ruins what the drop system was originally for, sharing items with your friends. If I want to give a new player 2000 bullets so he can pk, I will either have to caugh up $100 for a trade table for such a simple transaction, or drop them 1 by 1, which would take hours.
