When did people get so much into using less colors when the pixel? I mean, granted, it does add a lot of difficulty to it. But after forcing yourself to do that, adding another tone could mean the difference between a good gfx to a great one.

You use less colors when using too much colors is actually an issue with your art. Like if you actually notice inconsistency with the art overall, colors and its surrounding shades dont fit, etc. Your goal is not "to use a max of 3 colors", it is to make "good art". You've got good art yourself, Dylan, and a good palette. But the need to comment on everyone's GFX saying "less colors" seems a bit unnessesary for me unless it really does need less colors. ...but thats just me. I'm not a gfx designer or anything. I may just be talking out of my ass. |

I agree with rookie. Reading the thing you posted Dylan, the main point of keeping colors low is so if you have to go back and change something it doesnt create a disturbance with the neighboring pixels. However if you look at his work, it's small. Changing one pixel and the neighbors would take 30 seconds. It would be understandable to keep color choice small for a large piece, but for a smaller one? nah I agree the color choice needs more contrast on this piece Also people need to learn some aspects of art themselves and develop their own style. You can not force everyone into doing something just because YOU think it is right as it may not be the type of style someone else wants to follow. That is the beauty if art, no two pieces are alike and I advocate self teaching |

do not edit his work without permission or unless he has rejected the point. He deserves the chance to fix his own work
