What prompted me to write this thread up was actually the most recent instance of getting "Gypped"... I uploaded a shield (public) that I had grabbed from an image online (kuribo boot) then changed the colors slightly... and the shield was accepted after about 5 tries... I had changed it several times, using guesswork to make it accepted... every time I tried to upload I would get a different 'rejection' message (no full facemask, even though it was not on face... no bodies, even though it was not a body, etc... nothing that actually applied)... ANYWAY... that I can understand, given that no admin is responding to the submissions in person, rather using the stock responses. The problem was, when it finally got accepted, I got charged the 1000 gralats... it told me the code... and then when I went on to put the code in (setshield 4lomgomboot-shield.png) I found that it was not working. The code was not added to the in-game list. It does not appear on Taylor Richards. I received the successful application message, was told to write down the code. I got charged monies. I received nothing. THIS is what bad service is all about. |

I thought it was going to work, and therefore no, I didn't bother to take a pic of it... I understand why you ask this, but the issue is more than the thousand gralats... it is the service, or lack thereof, which leads to this kind of thing. There should be a master approval queue or something that require experienced admin approval before things take effect. That along with a one-to-one communication (not stock responses) about anything 'unacceptable' in an upload would create a positive experience, I believe, and eliminate a good portion of the frustration. |

It takes a little while for things to show up on Taylorrichaards from my experience. Don't view it as a particularly reliable source. The success response indicates that the image was initially successfully uploaded. We do not know what happened 10 seconds later, for example. You were charged automatically because of the upload confirmation message/script. You are unable to find/apply your uploaded image at this time. Meaning at some point, if even for a brief 10 seconds, the image was able to be applied ingame. Send an email to support (without sounding upset or frustrated, please) and wait for a response. In the past, this game hasn't had the greatest administration system in place, so if you fail to receive a reply I wouldn't be completely surprised. Such is the nature of this game, I suppose. If you don't like how it works, I don't know what can be done to change it. On the flipside, try different variations of the filename you've written down. You may have simply typed it in wrong on the original file, or written the wrong letter somewhere along the line. This is actually pretty common. |

Upset doesn't apply here... I am disappointed that the system is not better... Point is, I want to see a submissions system that can be easily used by all, including those of us who are just developing our graphics skills... It should not take five attempts to upload the same image, changed by a mere two pixels from the first attempt to the last, taking hours of frustration on the part of the player and multiple rejections by the admin... It could be avoided easily. Also, I have the image filename saved in my status in game for this particular instance, but what I want to see is more than just a single file accepted... I hope for some kind of transparent system that allows the player to communicate to the admin responsible for the upload, as well as for the admin to be able to drop at least a couple sentences in reply to whatever went wrong with the upload, instead of sending a server response message that says something to the effect of "Something is wrong with your upload. Probably a transparency issue or something. Don't send it again." Get that message 5 times, change two pixels, and then get the 'submission accepted' message... frustrating! Get an admin message saying "Hey, there's two pixels that have a transparency issue in the top left of your shield." and you feel special, like some one cares, and you save about an hour and a half of guesswork. |

I've uploaded 10 or 12 images in between 2010 and 2013 and I've never had a problem. It's actually been quite simple for me. My first few uploads were actually before there was any official system set in stone, one even before the tsunami of personal emails to classic staff (if anyone remembers that). But I can understand your frustration based on your explanation. It sounds more like an issue with how certain staff handle the task, and would probably be best suited talking to the chief in command of the staff division about your experiences and suggestions. Perhaps something can be done to make sure every uploader is on the same page, and the system will consequentially become more consistent. Worth a shot! |

They deleted my body again... for no apparent reason... What's with this? No response to feedback when I asked "Why has my body been deleted?" I've been wearing it on and off for months... since just before new years, now, with no issue? |

I agree that there needs to be a new system, but there are logical reasons as to why these things happen. The image you want uploaded is important to you, it is not important to most admins. They see a lot of heads/shields/bodies/etc come in each day. If it doesn't meet the servers criteria then they will be quick to discard it and probably won't go into too much depth to explain why. Why is that? During my experience as an admin, I would try to explain things in detail to various people. Whether it was in-game or via e-mail. The conclusion was usually the same, it was some 12-13 year old with broken English who couldn't understand why their image wasn't added or why they were running into a certain problem. No matter how much you tried to explain they just wouldn't get it. That takes a lot of energy, especially when doing this with so many people and then the problem is usually never resolved. I can't speak for admins, but I am guessing they really don't care if you image gets uploaded or not. Because its not worth the effort for just one head to get uploaded. Just my opinion. |
