I don't really PC game, I mostly use my keyboard for other functions. In 2015 I purchased a Mac for my studies. The default Mac Keyboard(wireless) didn't really suit me, it's lack of quality number pad(it has an attachable one, but it often runs out of battery or just flat out disconnects which drove me insane) really hurt it. I couldn't really handle that going into my semester. I ended up purchasing the wired Mac keyboard as a quick fix solution that wouldn't take me long to set up. It's a lot nicer. I plan on getting a mechanical keyboard in the future when I build my own PC.
From what I've looked at I would probably go with the Cherry MX brown or Cherry MX blue. Keyboard would depend on how much I want to spend and what brand I would want.
As someone who switched from a mechanical keyboard to a membrane, I didn't really have many hiccups, but that could also be some personal bias because the mechanical keyboard was for an old Dell 7~ years old, and the keys began to get stuck or not react to my press.
TLDR: I'm no expert, but I doubt you'll feel a massive difference(or need for adjustment) between the Blues and Reds.
